Tour Description

The cruise starts by gliding along the scenic waterfront of Vila Nova de Gaia, home to the world-famous Port wine lodges. From the river, you'll enjoy spectacular views of the historic cellars, colourful riverside buildings, and lively promenades that line the southern bank. The peaceful pace of the journey provides plenty of opportunities to capture memorable photographs of the surrounding landscape.

As the boat continues upstream, you'll pass beneath the magnificent Dom Luís I Bridge, Porto's most iconic landmark. Designed by a disciple of Gustave Eiffel, this impressive double-deck iron bridge offers one of the city's most recognisable skylines. Throughout the journey, you'll also sail beneath the remaining Six Bridges that span the Douro River, each showcasing a unique architectural style and playing an important role in connecting Porto with Vila Nova de Gaia.

  • A light jacket is highly recommended, as temperatures on the Douro River can feel cooler due to the breeze, particularly during sunset.
  • This experience takes place outdoors, so we recommend checking the weather forecast and dressing accordingly for your comfort.
  • A sun hat or cap for protection during sunny weather.
  • A light jacket or sweater, as it can be cooler and breezier on the river, especially during the evening.
  • Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and suitable footwear.
  • Animals are not allowed, except for guide dogs.
  • Food and drinks are not allowed during the tour.
  • Our river cruises are family-friendly. We have space for prams, and children love seeing the bridges from below!
  • Cruises usually operate in light rain. In case of severe weather (based on the authorities' assessment), you can reschedule your tour at no additional cost.
  • Boats are accessible to people with reduced mobility. However, it is not accessible to electric wheelchairs.

  • To get the full refund, you must cancel your booking at least 24 hours before the activity/tour start time.

  • Tours run regardless of the weather. Weather-related refunds will not be issued unless the service is discontinued due to inclement weather.
