With 5,000 square miles of slowly moving water, the Everglades is a distinctive wetland ecosystem in southern Florida that is home to dense woods, meadows, and a variety of animal species. The swampy Everglades, sometimes known as the "River of Grass," produce endless sawgrass plains that grow three to ten feet above the water's surface.
The renowned flat-bottomed Florida airboats are used because the sawgrass is frequently so dense that it can only be traversed by shallow natural waterways. Birds like the roseate spoonbill, great blue heron, and several egrets are well-known in the Everglades. Alligators, American crocodiles, soft-shelled turtles, and fish like red teriera, large mouth bass, redfish, and catfish are examples of marine life.
Deer, the endangered Florida panther, and more than 28 different snake species are among the other fauna found in Everglades National Park.
The first activity is a trip on a special Florida airboat across the renowned "river of grass," which includes a live guide and a free pre-trip photo. Your guide will point out alligators, birds, and turtles while on the airboat
