Tour Description

With an emphasis on beverages from the Prohibition era, Congress Street Up's Savannah Cocktail Classes, housed inside the American Prohibition Museum, provide a hands-on chance to learn the craft of cocktail-making. For individuals who wish to improve their mixology abilities while taking in the distinctive ambience of a speakeasy reminiscent of the 1920s, these classes are ideal.

During Prohibition, when alcohol was so strong and astringent that home brewers and bartenders began mixing mixers with the alcohol to make it more palatable, cocktail culture emerged! In keeping with the heritage of those pioneer mixologists, we will teach you the art of crafting authentic Prohibition Era concoctions in our speakeasy.

Authentic bar equipment is used during this two-hour event. You may make Prohibition Era drinks that will wow your friends for years to come by learning from our skilled bartenders.

A skilled barman with expertise of both traditional and contemporary cocktail methods leads each lesson. A selection of traditional concoctions, including some of the most well-known ones from the Prohibition era, will be shown for you to make.

Discover the background to well-known drinks including the Sidecar, Bee's Knees, Old Fashioned, and more. The lecturer will go into the components, procedures, and tricks that bartenders employed to make these concoctions when alcohol was outlawed.

You will have the opportunity to create your own drinks in the session with the instructor's assistance
